1. Scope and contact
This Privacy Policy explains how BreezeType handles personal information when you visit the BreezeType website, create or use a BreezeType account, join a BreezeType workspace, contact support, or use features that intentionally bring audio, transcripts, notes, files, or other content into BreezeType.
For purposes of this Policy, "BreezeType" means the operator of the BreezeType website, desktop app, and related services, unless a different controller or processor role is described in a signed customer agreement.
Questions or requests about this Policy can be sent to support@breezetype.com.
2. Personal information BreezeType may collect
The exact data BreezeType handles depends on the features you use, your plan, your device settings, and whether you enable optional cloud, sync, or sharing workflows.
- Account and profile data, such as your name, email address, login method, team membership, and account preferences.
- Subscription and transaction data, such as plan tier, billing status, invoice or renewal metadata, and customer-support records related to billing. Payment-card details are typically handled by the payment provider, not stored directly by BreezeType.
- Website and device data, such as browser identifiers, a random desktop app installation identifier, approximate analytics data, language preferences, referral parameters, app version, operating-system details, setup and permission-status events, and records of how the website or app is used.
- Workspace content, such as dictation history, notes, tasks, dictionary entries, prompts, uploads, and source-app context associated with captured history.
- Meeting data, such as microphone or system-audio recordings, meeting titles, timestamps, transcript text, transcript segments, notes, summaries, generated action items, and share settings.
- Support and communications data, such as messages sent to BreezeType, survey responses, bug reports, and troubleshooting details you choose to provide.
3. Where the data comes from
BreezeType collects information directly from you when you create an account, change settings, contact support, dictate or record into the app, upload files, create shares, or make a purchase.
BreezeType also receives information automatically from your browser, device, or operating system when you use the website or app, and from workspace admins, identity providers, billing providers, and other services that you or your organization choose to connect.
4. How BreezeType uses personal information
BreezeType uses personal information to provide and secure the product, authenticate users, sync or share content when requested, support local-first workflows, fulfill subscriptions, respond to support issues, enforce product rules, and comply with law.
BreezeType may also use service data to understand product performance, reliability, onboarding completion, abuse patterns, and support trends. Desktop setup telemetry can include whether the app launched, whether permission screens were shown or clicked, whether permissions appear enabled, whether sign-in or model setup completed, and similar activation milestones. BreezeType does not treat your recordings, transcripts, or workspace content as public training data, and setup telemetry is not intended to include audio, transcripts, meeting content, prompts, screenshots, or typed text. If BreezeType ever uses customer content for a materially different purpose, BreezeType will describe that use clearly and obtain any permission required by law before relying on it.
5. Local-first defaults, optional cloud features, and sharing choices
BreezeType is designed around a local-first desktop posture. Core dictation, transcription history, recordings, and other workspace data can remain on the device unless you enable a feature that requires sync, backup, or sharing.
If you enable account sync, optional cloud backup, team sharing, or public sharing, selected content may be uploaded to BreezeType servers or storage providers so the feature can work.
If you connect a third-party tool or export BreezeType content into another service, the content you send through that path is processed under the terms and settings that apply to that service. That may include transcripts, notes, tasks, summaries, or related metadata needed to complete the request.
7. Retention and deletion
BreezeType keeps different categories of data for different periods, depending on the feature, your settings, workspace policies, and legal or security needs.
- Local content remains on the device until you delete it, overwrite it, or uninstall the app, subject to any local backups or system-level retention outside BreezeType's control.
- Synced, backed-up, or shared workspace content is generally kept until you, your workspace admin, or the applicable retention rule deletes it, after which BreezeType removes it from active systems and later backup cycles within a reasonable period.
- Account, billing, and support records may be kept while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for security, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution purposes.
- Website analytics and cookie-based data are retained according to the settings of the relevant cookie or analytics provider unless you clear them sooner.
8. Team workspaces and admin visibility
If you use BreezeType through a team or company workspace, workspace owners or admins may be able to manage members, control sharing and retention settings, review workspace-level usage, and access or export workspace content consistent with the product's admin features and the organization's agreement with BreezeType.
If you use a company-managed account or company domain, your organization may be able to keep, transfer, or remove access to workspace content even if you leave the organization.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live and how you use BreezeType, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or export of personal information, and to withdraw consent where BreezeType relies on consent.
You may also have rights to appeal a denied request or to opt out of certain forms of processing if local law applies. BreezeType will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right that the law gives you.
You can also use in-product settings and workspace controls to delete content, disable public shares, remove backups, disconnect providers, or manage local storage.
- Send privacy requests to support@breezetype.com.
- BreezeType may ask for information needed to verify your identity or your authority to make the request.
- If a workspace admin controls the relevant data, BreezeType may direct the request to that admin or require the admin's involvement before making the change.
11. International transfers and legal bases
If data-protection laws such as the GDPR apply, BreezeType generally processes personal information because it is necessary to perform a contract with you, to pursue legitimate interests such as operating and securing the service, to comply with legal obligations, or because you consented to an optional feature.
If BreezeType transfers personal information across borders, BreezeType uses the transfer mechanisms and safeguards that the law requires for the relevant transfer path.
12. Security
BreezeType uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No system is perfectly secure, and BreezeType cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your own security practices also matter. Protect your devices, accounts, provider keys, and share links, and disable credentials or integrations that you no longer trust.
13. Children's privacy
BreezeType is not directed to children under 13, and BreezeType does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the self-serve service. If you believe a child has provided personal information to BreezeType in violation of this section, contact support@breezetype.com.
14. Changes to this Policy
BreezeType may update this Policy as the product, laws, or service providers change. When a change is material, BreezeType will revise the last-updated date and may provide additional notice through the website, app, or account email.
